Pacquiao gearing up to deliver solid power punches vs Algieri
MANILA – Looks like Manny Pacquiao is in tiptop shape.
A day after Freddie Roach told him to knock Chris Algieri in the first round of their fight, the Filipino champion said that he has been practicing to perfect his solid, hard shots which he plans to deliver against his opponent on November 22 at the Cotai Arena in Macau.
“All the punches that I’ve been working on are power punches,” said Pacquaio who also shared that his training was geared towards that direction.
The Filipino boxing icon’s last knockout was almost five years ago making Roach impatient. Nevertheless, Pacquiao’s camp feels that he will win by a knockout.
“Do I look ready?” asked Pacquiao. “I know I am,” he said confidently.
Only he and Algieri will know the answer come fight night.
Meanwhile, Algieri remains unfazed saying that he has the “tools and talent to win the fight.”
