Purisima’s lifestyle check begins
MANILA – Philippine National Police Director General Alan Purisima’s lifestyle check has already started, according to the Office of the Ombudsman on Monday.
Purisima was earlier charged with plunder and graft before the antigraft body for his alleged ill-gotten wealth.
“The office is already probing the matter,” Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales said in a statement, referring to the purported donations that Purisima allegedly received in the construction of the “White House.”
The “White House” is the official residence of the PNP chief at Camp Crame, Quezon City.
Morales also added that investigators from the antigraft body will also be looking into the final report of the Senate committee.
A Senate inquiry led by a committee chaired by Sen.
Grace Poe was earlier conducted to investigate the issue.
The lifestyle check and a case buildup was started on Purisima after a complaint was raised against the PNP chief last June 5.
“The Office of the Deputy Ombudsman for the Military and Other Law Enforcement Offices is gathering evidence and looking into other possible leads not mentioned in the newspaper article and the anonymous complaint,” Morales said.
