S.U.C.C.E.S.S. will be hosting Vancouver Mayoral Candidates Forum on Oct. 30 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Choi Hall, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Social Service Centre (28 West Pender Street, Vancouver).
The forum provides an opportunity for the public to learn the candidates’ views and positions on key issues related to housing, transportation and employment in Vancouver.
“S.U.C.C.E.S.S. has been hosting candidate forums during elections for many years. We hope to provide a platform where voters can be better informed of key facts and issues that impact the diverse communities in Vancouver,” said Queenie Choo, CEO of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. “We see the value of civic education to our integration service model in preparing new Canadians to become active citizens.”
The S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Vancouver Mayoral Candidates Forum will be conducted in English with simultaneous interpretation in Cantonese and Mandarin.
A seven-member media panel will join the candidates and a live audience from the public including youth, women and seniors to discuss issues pertaining to housing, transportation and employment in Vancouver.
Vancouver mayoral candidates Mike Hansen (Independent), Kirk Lapointe (NPA), Tim Ly (Independent), Gregor Robertson (Vision Vancouver) and Meena Wong (COPE) have confirmed attendance to the event. The forum is open to the public.
