Vigan makes it to the top 14 finalists for ‘New 7 Wonders Cities’

MANILA – Vigan City lands on the list of the top 14 official finalists for the New 7 Wonder Cities, making it to the last round of the campaign.

“This is a memorable day for all involved in the 14 successful city campaigns. The short-list is as inspiring as it is enlightening,” News7Wonders Cities Founder-President Bernard Weber said.

Other cities included in the official list are Barcelona (Spain), Beirut (Lebanon), Chicago (United States), Doha (Qatar), Durban (South Africa), Havana (Cuba), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), La Paz (Bolivia), London (United Kingdom), Mexico City (Mexico), Perth (Australia), Quito (Ecuador), Reykjavik (Iceland).

“The shortlist will now help voters to focus their understanding of a key trend shaping our world today: urbanization,” New7Wonders Head of Communication Eamonn Fitzgerald, said.

The official start of the online voting and national SMS voting will be declared on December 7.

Now that the official top 14 list is revealed, the committee organizing the campaign will be meeting to lay the future plans for the cities.
