NU sends FEU crashing, forces winner-take-all game 3 duel
MANILA — The National University (NU) Bulldogs forced a deciding third game after clobbering the Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws, 62-47 in Game Two of their Best-Of-3 Finals series on Wednesday at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.
Troy Rosario came up big for NU after his dismal performance in Game One by spearheading his team with 19 big points and 14 rebounds.
NU relied on their blistering 16-3 start en route to a easy victory.
However, the Tamaraws launched a scorching rally in the final period to trim the lead to six, 50-44, but Gelo Alolino answered with back-to-back treys to put the game away.
The Bulldogs also displayed a magnificent job on the defensive end throughout the game by locking up FEU’s primary scorers, Mac Belo and Mike Tolomia.
Mythical Five member Belo registered 17 points while Tolomia chipped in with 15 markers for the Tamaraws.
Game Three will be on October 15, 3:30 p.m. at the Mall Of Asia Arena.
