Richard Yap excited for new roles
MANILA – Following the end of his long-running daytime teleserye “Be Careful With My Heart,” Richard Yap said that he is looking forward to new roles assigned to him.
After the said daytime show is set to end on November 28, Yap will soon find himself working on “Praybeyt Benjamin 2,” an official entry to the 2014 Metro Manila Film Festival which he will star with Vice Ganda.
He is not yet sure what his role will be in the said film, but according to the 47-year-old actor he is ready for whatever challenge.
“I want to explore other roles,” he said. “I want to star in action films with a bit of humor – just like the movies of Liam Neeson.”
Aside from new projects, Yap is also looking forward to spend more quality time with his family.
“Due to hectic work schedules, we don’t see each other often,” Yap said referring to his children. “We see each other during breakfast, and that’s about it.
”
He said he plans to treat his family to a vacation in December or early next year to make up for their lost time.
Yap also shared that he thanks his wife for her unwavering support, and also for not getting jealous of his onscreen partners.
“We always talk to each other, even when I’m on set,” said Yap. “She understands my work, and that whenever I have free time, I spend it by texting or calling her.
