Filipina maid in UAE charged with adultery

MANILA — A Filipina maid in the United Arab Emirates is now being charged with adultery after giving birth to twins last week in her sponsor’s home in Sharjah.

According to a report on Gulf News, the Filipina, the babies, and the alleged partner were placed under the custody of the police.

Last Sunday, the public prosecution of Sharjah interrogated the 35-year-old housemaid after she gave birth to twins on Thursday.

Investigations are currently being done to find out how the maid got pregnant, and whether it was due to an affair with a Bangladeshi worker who happens to be her neighbor.

The Filipina’s employer was surprised when she failed to report to work on Thursday. They later found out the maid already gave birth in the bathroom of their adjacent house. The employer immediately reported this to the police.

Both the mother and twins were rushed to the nearest hospital, while the police arrested her partner who allegedly plans to leave the country.
