Pinay White House chef featured in CNN’s Leading Women
MANILA, Philippines – This month, CNN’s Leading Women meets Cristeta Comerford, the White House executive chef.
In 2005, Philippines-born Comerford made history when she became the first female and minority to be appointed as executive chef of the White House.
The 51-year-old chef has been preparing world leaders’ dinners for more than a decade now and has served under three presidents – Clinton, Bush, and Obama.
In the program, Comerford talks about her life when she was still in the Philippines, her journey to the US, and her career starting as a ‘salad girl’ and eventually becoming a chef in the White House kitchen.
The Leading Women episode premieres on September 24 in CNN.
