Oliver Tolentino dresses up an Emmy nominee
MANILA — Once again, Oliver Tolentino dressed up a Hollywood actress in time for the Emmy awards.
Mayim Bialik wore a creation by Tolentino when she graced the Emmys in which she competed for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy for The Big Bang Theory.
Tolentino designed a stunning royal blue embroidered ball gown featuring a sweetheart neckline, pockets, and see-through sleeves.
Bialik conforms to Jewish traditions, so she prefers dresses with sleeves.
Last year, she also wore an emerald green gown from the same designer that earned praises from Joan Rivers of Fashion Police.
According to Tolentino, he made the gown in 72 hours. He shared that Bialik made it easy for him despite the time frame given that the latter had mentioned that she wanted a ball gown.
Tolentino is the second Filipino designer who made a dress for a star in the Academy Awards. The first was Pitoy Moreno 53 years ago when he did Rita Moreno’s gown when she won Best Actress for West Side Story.
