Pacquiao is new Rexona brand ambassador
MANILA — Pambansang Kamao Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao is the newest brand ambassador of Rexona. Alongside this announcement, the brand also formally launched the Rexona Training Camp.
The camp aims to encourage Filipinos to act and train like a champion – just like Pacquiao.
“We want to cultivate a new generation of doers and active people. One of the biggest barriers to exercising is access. The Rexona Training Camp will give every Filipino access to gyms and classes,” said Mar Corazo, Rexona brand manager.
Corazo added that Pacquiao is the embodiment of the brand’s ‘Do More’ philosophy. According to Pacquiao, he pushes himself further every time he trains. For instance, he wakes up extra early, runs faster, punches harder, and even jumps higher. Each time, he tries to beat his previously set record.
Aside from being the first and only eight-division world champion, he is also a PBA coach and player. He said that age should not and will never be a barrier because it motivates him more.
When asked if any of his children are interested in boxing he said, “Walang mahilig sa boxing sa kanila. Walang boxing equipment na makikita sa bahay.
Dini-discourage ko sila (None of them likes boxing. There are no boxing equipment at home. I discourage them).” His sons are basketball fans, while his wife Jinkee loves Zumba.
Other ambassadors of Rexona ‘Do More’ campaign include Azkals stars James and Phil Younghusband, fitness coach Rio de la Cruz, Paolo Cabalfin of Focus Athletics, Erwin Tagle of Ultimate Fitness Manila, Dexter Pulid of 360 Fitness Club, and Edward Pagonzaga of Elorde Boxing Gym.
