MANILA — After a Metro Rail Transit (MRT) 3 train stalled near the EDSA-Santolan Station on Friday afternoon, the MRT management assured that it has nothing to do with Wednesday’s train crash.

MRT spokesperson Hernando Cabrera said the reason behind one of the MRT-3 trains getting stalled was due to power outage.

To recall, the MRT train which crashed through a station wall in Taft Avenue station, EDSA Pasay last Wednesday also went through the same dilemma.

The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) is still investigating whether the train crash was caused by human error or a technical malfunction.

Unlike Wednesday’s mishap, the stalled MRT-3 train was immediately pushed by another train towards Trinoma station in a matter of minutes.

Cabrera, however admitted that two MRT-3’s trains are out of service.

While the incident caused traffic, full operations resumed just before 4 pm.
