MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Navy is sailing overseas to join Australia’s biggest multilateral naval war games, to be held in from August 25 to September 12.

Navy officials disclosed in a statement that it will be sending 180  personnel on board its most advanced warship, the BRP Ramon Alcaraz, to participate in the KAKADU 2014 war games to be held at Northern Australia Exercise Area.

The navies of Japan, New Zealand and Pakistan will likewise take part in the naval exercises; while Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Thailand, Vanuatu, South Korea and India will personnel to observe the games.  This was revealed by Acting director of Naval Public Affairs, Lieutenant Commander Marineth Domingo.

The Philippine delegation to the games will be feted with a send-off ceremony on August 17 at Riviera Wharf, Subic Bay Freeport in Olongapo City.
