Binay ready to face PNoy in the 2016 elections
MANILA – Though he is still not convinced that President Aquino will seek for a second term, Vice President Jejomar Binay is still determined to run just in case Aquino will also run for the country’s highest office in the next presidential elections.
Binay said he had always dreamed to become a president.
“This is the reason why I prepared and studied very hard and became a lawyer,” he said.
Binay made the statement to reporters following Aquino’s TV5 interview where he disclosed that he is now open to seeking another term.
PNoy also made it clear in the interview that he is only doing so if the “bosses” so wish.
Binay, however said he do not believe that Aquino was thinking of prolonging his term when he voiced out support for Charter change.
“I believe that is purely speculation,” he said.
“But I do wish the Constitution would not be used to further worsen the crisis the country is experiencing at present. And that this issue (on amending the Constitution) would not reach again the Supreme Court,” Binay added.
