Rebel M-16 automatic rifle, assorted medical paraphernalia recovered in Northern Samar

MANILA — Troopers from the 8th Military Intelligence Battalion have a recovered a New People’s Army (NPA) M-16 automatic rifle and assorted medical paraphernalia during operations at boundaries of Barangays San Miguel and San Francisco, Las Navas town, Northern Samar on Monday.

Also recovered was an M-16 magazine filled with ammunition, a medical kit with assorted medicines, 1-syringe, dextrose and gloves

Reports forwarded Wednesday by Major Amado Gutierrez, 8th Infantry Division spokesperson, said that this took place 6: 35 p.m.

The weapon and medical kit was discovered by a concerned citizen.

The 8th Infantry Division in Catbalogan, Samar retrieved the items.
