Magnitude 5.0 quake jolts Davao Occidental
MANILA -– A magnitude 5.0 earthquake jolted parts of Mindanao on Thursday afternoon, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
Phivolcs Director Renato Solidum said the magnitude 5.0 quake was recorded at 1:24 p.m. with its epicenter traced at 141 km southeast of Sarangani in Davao Occidental.
He said its depth was estimated at six km and earthquake is tectonic in origin.
He added that there were no reports of damage to property or casualty from the tremor.
Aftershocks are also not expected.
