Cunanan’s participation in overseas event not ‘indispensable’
MANILA – Dennis Cunanan’s participation in an event abroad is not “indispensable” according to a lawyer of Senator Ramon Revilla Jr.’s co-accused.
Lawyer Reynaldo Robles, Dennis Cunanan’s counsel admitted that his client’s attendance during the Junior Chamber International summit in US this July is not “indispensable.”
The statement was made by the lawyer, who is also a former director general of the Technology Resource Center, during the oral arguments on the motion to travel abroad.
Meanwhile, the government prosecutors are still thinking if they will be calling Cunanan to the witness stand when the trial begins.
This is after Associate Justice Rafael Lagos told Robles that included in the list of activities forwarded by the lawyer to the court are two more moderators.
“So he’s ( Cunanan) is not indispensable,” Lagos told Robles.
Like Revilla, Cunanan is also facing graft charges before the Sandiganbayan’s First Division.
He was also already arraigned for two counts of graft charges.
