Coast Guard, PNP seize P40,000 worth of illegal drugs in Aparri

MANILA — Operatives from the Coast Guard District Northeastern Luzon (CGDNELZN) and the Aparri-Philippine National Police confiscated P40,000 worth of illegal drugs during operations in Cagayan province on Friday.

Armand Balilo, Coast Guard spokesperson, said the prohibited narcotics were detected in an LBC package claimed by Paulalyn N. Magtalas, 21, a resident of Barangay Macanaya, Aparri.
The drugs were sniffed by Coast Guard K-9 units.

Investigation revealed that the illegal narcotics were forwarded from Manila to Aparri via LBC.
Magtalas was nabbed while claiming the package. She is now under the custody of the Aparri-PNP for filing of appropriate charges.
