Death toll at 3 after 2 bodies found in capsized boat in northwestern Ontario
KENORA, Ontario — Police have recovered the bodies of two men from a lake in northwestern Ontario, bringing the death count to three after a boat carrying eight people capsized.
Provincial police have identified the victims as 30-year-old William Chisel and 19-year-old Simon Chisel, both of Frenchman’s Head.
The boat was carrying eight people from Lac Seul First Nation when the incident occurred Thursday afternoon on Lost Lake in Kenora district during difficult conditions and bad weather.
OPP say six people on board managed to get to shore, but that one of them — 39-year-old Kevin Brisket — died in hospital after suffering critical injuries.
Police are investigating the incident.
