MIRPUR, Bangladesh—India claimed a 2-0 series win over Bangladesh after the third one-day international between the teams was abandoned due to heavy rain on Thursday.

India was 119-9 in 34.2 overs before the third spell of rain forced umpires to call off the match.

Cheteshwar Pujara was the top scorer for the side with 27 while Stuart Binny was not out on 25.

Suresh Raina also made 25.

India won the toss and elected to bat first despite the humid and overcast conditions suiting seam bowlers, and Bangladesh’s pacemen made regular inroads.

Mashrafe Mortaza, Al-Amin Hossain and Taskin Ahmed bowled with controlled aggression to reduce India to 13-3 before the first rain delay.

After the break, Al-Amin quickly removed Manoj Tiwary to leave India 16-4.

Cheteshwar Pujara and Suresh Raina halted the collapse before the second spell of rain arrived, this time delaying the game to 2-1/2 hours and reducing the game to a planned 40 overs per side.

Shortly after the second rain-break Shakib Al Hasan removed Raina to end the 41-run partnership with Pujara, who then combined with Wriddiman Saha to provide further resistance before Shakib again broke through, dismissing Saha on 16.
