DFA lowers crisis alert level in Thailand to level 1; lifts deployment ban
MANILA — Citing the continuing normalization of the political situation in Thailand, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Monday has downgraded its crisis alert there to Level 1, but urged Filipinos to still exercise caution.
Deployment ban is also lifted under alert level 1, the DFA said in a statement.
The DFA decided to lower crisis alert, with one being the lowest and four the highest, after the Thai junta lifted the curfew nationwide last June 13.
“The ban on the deployment of overseas Filipino workers, whether balik-manggagawa or newly-hired, will also be lifted,” the DFA said, but noted that the Filipinos in Thailand should take necessary precautions.
The Thai military, which seized control of the government last month, lifted the night time ban in 25 provinces, including those that are frequented by tourists.
