No preliminary hearing to be held for woman charged with murdering son
SASKATOON — A 35-year-old Saskatoon woman accused of murdering her son will stand trial.
Kellie Johnson appeared in provincial court Friday, where neither the Crown nor her lawyer requested a preliminary hearing.
Johnson is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her five-year-old son Jonathan Vetter.
The boy was found dead in a home on Jan. 4.
Johnson underwent psychiatric and psychological assessments at Saskatchewan Hospital in North Battleford shortly after the discovery.
She was remanded Friday to the Pine Grove Correctional Centre in Prince Albert.
