MANILA – The rumour mills are abuzz with the saucy news that the group of businessman Cedric Lee may have had a hand in the uploading of sex videos of Hayden Kho on the Internet.
Actress Katrina Halili, an actresses who appeared on the videos filmed without her knowledge, sent a request via her lawyer to Justice Secretary Leila de Lima to investigate claims that Lee was involved in the spread of Kho’s sex videos.
Raymund Palad, Halili’s lawyer, noted that there exists a pattern of extortion with connections to Lee’s group. He added that it was Kho himself who first disclosed that Lee was trying to extort money from him.
“Mismong ang kampo ni Hayden ang nagsabi sa husgado na kinokotongan sila ni Cedric Lee. Matagal ko nang isinulat sa [Department of Justice] yan pero di inaksyunan (It was Hayden’s camp themselves who said that Cedric Lee was extorting money from them. I wrote the Justice Department about this some time ago, but they did not act on it,)” he said.
As a result of the scandal created when sex videos of Kho leaked on the Internet, he was stripped of his doctor’s license. Kho admitted to having made the videos, but said that someone else posted them online.
Halili subsequently filed a criminal and libel case against Kho and his mother, Irene.
In her judicial affidavit, Mrs. Kho submitted an audio recording of a meeting that took place between Hayden, her and a group associated with Lee.
Kho pointed out that before the sex scandal blew up, the group already tried to extort P4 million from him under threat that the videos would come out.
More recently, Lee, Zimmer Raz, model Deniece Cornejo, and others were implicated in the mauling of comedian Vhong Navarro. They face charges of serious illegal detention and grave coercion charges.
Navarro reported that he was beaten up by Lee’s group inside Cornejo’s condo unit on January 22, 2014. He added that the group demanded for P2 million, even as they threatened to circulate a video of his private parts if he did not fork over the money.
Lee denied Navarro’s statements, and countered that he and his friends caught the comedian in the act of trying to rape Cornejo.
Meanwhile, De Lima has ordered the National Bureau of Investigation to look into Lee’s possible involvement in the Hayden Kho sex scandal.
“We are conducting an investigation. We will have to refer to the audio recording that was submitted to the court by Mrs. Kho,” said NBI Cybercrime Division chief Ronald Aguto.
On the other hand, Lee’s lawyer spoke out against the Department of Justice (DOJ) for trying to link his client to another scandal.
“I don’t have any knowledge of this issue.
However, if true that the DOJ is again trying to pin my client in another unfounded issue, it just shows the bias of DOJ against my client. I hope that my client’s name and reputation won’t be dragged unjustly to satisfy purposes and objectives only known to DOJ and some individuals,” Lee’s lawyer, Howard Calleja, said.
