More trains arranged for China’s record holiday railway traffic
BEIJING — China railways laid on extra trains to manage a record number of passengers on Monday, the last day of three days of the Dragon Boat Festival holiday.
290 temporary trains were added as the number of trips made by railway passengers nationwide was estimated at 8.

On Sunday, 7.23 million trips were made via 4,725 trains in China, up 12.9 percent year on year, as people visited tourist attractions or went to their hometowns.
The Dragon Boat Festival, also called Duanwu, is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese lunar calendar, June 2 this year.
