‘Norte’ and ‘OTJ’ get the most nominations in Gawad Urian Awards

In this year’s Gawad Urian Awards, two movies got the most number of nominations—Lav Diaz’s ‘Norte, Sa Hangganan Ng Kasaysayan’ and Erik Matti’s ‘On The Job (OTJ).’
‘Norte’ was nominated for Best Picture, Best Actor (for Sid Lucero), Best Actress (Angeli Bayani), Best Supporting Actor for (Archie Alemania), Best Director (Diaz) and Best Screenplay (Diaz and Rody Vera), Best Music (Perry Dizon), Best Cinematography (Lauro Rene Manda), Best Editing (Diaz) and Best Sound for (Corinne de San Jose).
While applauded Filipino indie film, ‘OTJ’ has a chance to bag Best Picture, Best Screenplay (Michiko Yamamoto and Erik Matti), Best Production Design (Richard Somes), Best Cinematography (Francis Ricardo Buhay III), Best Editing (Jay Halili), Best Sound (Corinne de San Jose), Best Actor ( Torre), Best Supporting Actor ( Joey Marquez) and Best Director (Matti).
Film director Mike de Leon will receive the Natatanging Gawad Urian.
The 37th Gawad Urian awards will air on June 17, 10 p.m. via Cinema One and will be hosted by Piolo Pascual and Bianca Gonzalez.
