Carla Abellana admits breakup with Geoff Eigenmann

MANILA, Philippines –It’s confirmed: Kapuso actress Carla Abellana and Kapuso actor Geoff Eigenmann have already called it quits.

This was revealed by Abellana on “Startalk” on Sunday, April 13.

“Hindi naman kami puwede magsinungaling, so you know, almost four years din ang relationship namin ni Geoff. I remember I was even the first one na nagsabi ‘yes Geoff and I are together.’ So it’s right I believe na ako na rin ang magsabi that we are no longer together,” Carla said.

(We can’t lie, so you know, our relationship was almost four years. I remember I was even the first one who said that Geoff and I were together. So it’s only right that I am the one to say that we are no longer together.)

As early as March this year, rumors had it that the two have already parted ways because of an alleged third party—Geoff’s co-star in “Adarna” Kylie Padilla.

But Carla, in the same interview, was quick to dismiss the rumors, explaining that the problem lies between the two of them.

“We are two different people and we are too different. There’s just so many reasons. We don’t share the same values… It was the small things that contributed to just one big thing… We clashed more than we got along, so there are many reasons,” she explained.

She added that they did their best to save their nearly 4-year relationship.

Before the end of the interview, the 27-year-old actress said that only God knows if they can still be together in the future. She also thanked her ex-boyfriend.

“Thank you, super thank you talaga for teaching me so much. Thank you for making me a tougher person. I am stronger now, I am tougher now. I was pushed to the limits… So thank you so much for taking care of me, for loving me… I really do sincerely hope and pray na maging okay ang lahat sa atin hindi man as a couple but as individuals (I hope that things will be okay between us if not as a couple, but as individuals),” she said.

The romance between the two started to blossom when they were paired in the local adaptation of “Rosalinda,” where Carla played the title role and Geoff played Fernando Jose, Rosalinda’s love interest.

They were again paired in shows such as “The Last Prince” and “Magic Palayok.”
