PCCT no longer a partner of “Pinoy Fiesta & Trade Show sa Toronto”
The Philippine Chamber of Commerce-Toronto or PCCT, the premiere business organization in the Filipino community, will hold its own trade show this year called “FILIPINAS EXPO & MULTICULTURAL TRADE SHOW” to be held on August 16, 2014 at the North Building, Hall A of Metro Toronto Convention Centre in collaboration with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines and AXS Media Canada Event Concept & Management. This was announced recently by Oswald Tugadi, PCCT President.
Previously, PCCT had been collaborating with other organizations in their respective events such as PIDC’s “Mabuhay Festival & Trade Show” and PCCF’s “Pinoy Fiesta & Trade Show sa Toronto.” This time, PCCT has decided to organize its own event and will cease affiliating or collaborating with any of the said two organizations.
When asked why PCCT decided only now to hold its own trade show, Tugadi explained that PCCT had been organizing its own trade shows as far back as15 years ago and long before any Filipino organizations started doing trade shows, However, the said shows were on a small scale, with only a few PCCT members as its exhibitors until later on it was invited to collaborate with PIDC and in the last three years with PCCF. He adds that PCCT, on its own, is just going back to its roots but this time on a bigger scale and in a bigger venue.
He further clarified that this initiative is being driven by the organization’s vision to innovate and become the leader of the Filipino business community with the goal of promoting harmonious relations with other ethnic business communities in Canada.
He explains that the FILIPINAS EXPO & MULTICULTURAL TRADE SHOW is a festive great new way to celebrate Filipino entrepreneurs and promote products and culture of the Philippines as well as strengthen relations with other ethnic business communities. It will also be a venue for businesses in the Philippines to promote their products and services while promoting the Philippines in general and enhancing trading and cultural interchange.
A major highlight of the forthcoming PCCT event is a special showcase of products and services from a particular region in the Philippines to help promote business tourism in the Philippines. This is planned to become a fixture and centerpiece of what will soon be a biennial PCCT affair. Invited to come and participate in the 2014 FILIPINAS EXPO & MULTICULTURAL TRADE SHOW will be entrepreneurs, traders, and businesses from the Cordillera Administrative Region which include the provinces of Apayao, Kalinga, Abra, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Benguet and the chartered City of Baguio. They are expected to promote their local wares and goods as well as showcase their local culture, lifestyle, arts and crafts.
Prior to the big event, a series of special shows will be conducted leading to the big day of FILIPINAS EXPO & MULTICULTURAL TRADE SHOW plus a kaleidoscope of entertainment and performances that will introduce the diverse culture of the Philippines and other ethnic communities.
Confident that Filipinas Expo and Multicultural Trade Show will be a success, Oswald Tugadi concludes: “this time, gone are the days where PCCT is just a second fiddle to various events happening in the community. PCCT will be leading the way.”
