Malaysia says Chinese satellite has spotted object that might be jet; ships to investigate
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – Malaysia’s defence minister says a Chinese satellite has spotted a large object along a stretch of the Indian Ocean where officials hope to find the Malaysia Airlines plane that’s been missing for more than two weeks.
Hishammuddin Hussein told reporters today he’s been informed a Chinese satellite spotted an object about 22 metres by 30 metres in size floating in the southern corridor.
He says ships are being sent to the area to check it out.
It wasn’t immediately clear whether the object was seen near where another satellite found two objects earlier this week.
