Posh ranch to go on sale for $37.8 million in Alberta’s cowboy country
MILLARVILLE, Alta.—If you’re a multi-millionaire with a dream of living in cowboy country, Sotheby’s auction house may have the perfect thing for you.
The sprawling Kettle Lake Ranch near Millarville, Alta., is going up for sale with an asking price of $37.8 million.
That pays for a posh three-bedroom, three-bathroom bungalow on the shores of a private lake with a mountain view.
There is also a guest house, wine cellar, barn and a working antique gas station, all situated on about 100 hectares of land.
Mark Evernden of Sotheby’s expects the buyer will be someone who wants privacy and seclusion but with a tinge of elegance.
The property is currently owned by a woman who bought it with her late husband 15 years ago and now wants to move closer to family.
The area was originally set to be developed for the Ford Motor Company, but the MD of Foothills shut down the project for environmental reasons.
Sotheby’s expects it will take up to four years to close a deal.
