Woman dead, man in hospital after double stabbing in Brampton, Ont.; man sought
BRAMPTON, Ont.—Police are looking for a 46-year-old Brampton man in connection with a double stabbing in the city west of Toronto that left a woman dead and a man in hospital.
Peel Regional Police say officers called to a home (on Kingknoll Drive in the Steeles Avenue and Mavis Road area) on Tuesday night found a man and a woman suffering from multiple stab wounds.
The victims were taken to hospital but police say the woman, 51-year-old Anita Summan of Brampton, died of her injuries.
The man, identified as Gurkharan Doal, 46, of Brampton, remains in hospital in life-threatening condition.
Police say they are seeking Iqbal Singh on a Canada-wide warrant for murder and attempted murder and that he is considered armed and dangerous.
He is described as South Asian, about five feet 11 inches tall and about 190 pounds with a medium build, brown hair and brown eyes.
He was seen leaving the area in a 2001 four-door, green Honda Civic and police say anyone who sees the vehicle should not approach him but call 911 immediately.
