Versatile actress Eugene Domingo had already brought home numerous acting awards, but the latest that she got was the most special—Best Actress for “Barber’s Tales” at the Tokyo Film Festival.
In an interview with the Yahoo! Philippines OMG, she said, “Bongga! Kasi it’s the closest thing I can get to being a beauty queen.
Dala mo ang pelikula (abroad). Tuwang tuwa ako na makita ko nakasama ko sa sila direk Jun (Lana), Perci (Intalan) and Ferdy Lapuz (who produced the film together with Lana). Lahat ng bagay na pinaghirapan namin, natupad na talaga.
”
(It was fabulous! Because it’s the closest thing I can get to being a beauty queen. You bring the film abroad. I am very glad that I was seen alongside directors Jun (Lana), Perci Intalan and Ferdy Lapuz (who produced the film together with Lana). All the things that we worked hard for had really come to life).
In “Barber’s Tales,” Eugene assumed a male role while tackling women empowerment.
After portraying a lot of interesting roles, the former theater actress is hoping that she can play the role of Tandang Sora in one of her future projects.
Eugene also stars in the film “Status: It’s Complicated” with Jake Cuenca, Paulo Avelino, Maja Salvador and Solenn Heussaff.
