Chef Sandy Daza takes on the streets and corners of one of the country’s major destinations for strong flavors and well-loved dishes, Batangas, in a two-part trip that hits television screens this Saturday (October 26).

With the Batangueño’s passion ang pride in their tradition of heartfelt hospitality and their desire to share all their local treats, Chef Sandy had the time of his life sampling the best of what Batangas had to offer.

He kick-starts his adventure with Batangas’ famous Bulalo, visiting two of the best bulalo places in town. Sampling a simple but utterly delicious dish made of broth, beef shank, and melt-in-your-mouth bone marrow, heading straight for the Bulalo definitely sets Chef Sandy on the right path.

Another popular favorite from the province is Kapeng Barako. Of course, Chef Sandy takes on the challenge of finding out what makes their coffee stand out. A strong blend, Kapeng Barako serves as an epitome for the strong, jovial character of the Batangueño.

In the first part of his Batangas adventure, Chef Sandy also gets his hands on Batangas’ famous lomi, puto sa alsa, tamales, and sinukmani; and to give him an even more in-depth 101 on Batangueño food, Chef Sandy meets up with proud blogger from Batangas, Rex Torrecampo.

In the second part of his trip, which airs next Saturday (November 2), Chef Sandy takes things to the quaint and lovely town of Taal, where he finds out the secret to the best-tasting panutsa straight from the brewing vats.

He also samples local Taal delicacies with historian food advocate Dindo Montenegro.

While on his adventure, another friend crosses paths with Chef Sandy. His mom’s childhood friend, Atty. Antonio Pastor, joins him on the show to share anecdotes of his memories of Nora Daza.

Catch Chef Sandy as he heads to Batangas to relive his own personal heritage, rediscovering what is truly delicious in life along with the spirited Batangueños in Lifestyle Network’s “FoodPrints”, airing this Saturday (October 26) and next Saturday (November 2) at at 8:30 p.m. For more details, visit and like the Lifestyle Network on Facebook at www.facebook.com/LifestyleNetwork.
